First sightings of the new Mazda MX-5

The Mazda Miata is an icon all over the world, however this latest generation of roadster (also available in the targa variant, RF) has been around for some years now, more precisely since 2016. A recent test on road of what appears to be a forklift, reminds us and suggests that Mazda may be working on a new version or, perhaps, a small facelift.

Of course, this is only the beginning of the testing phase , which means that for now we can only speculate; regardless, the test car was spotted with a camouflage in the front area, showing that we can at least expect a slight update before a more radical change. The camouflage affects the entire front section, from the headlights to the air intakes: it is therefore difficult to understand what it could be about.

The rear part, on the other hand, provides for a wider track that could open the doors for better handling and possibly with larger wheels. Ideally, the new Miata (in whatever form it takes) will remain a tiny and agile car. Making the Miata more aggressive could go against all the principles followed up to now but we are sure that Mazda will find the right compromise.| ); }
While waiting for new information, we invite you to read our model test 1.5 liter displacement and we anticipate that we will soon publish the test of the 2 liter version.
