Ryzen 7000 with early 3D V-Cache? Maybe they arrive at the end of the year

AMD’s Ryzen 7000s with 3DV-Cache could be much closer than expected after the company hinted at it later this year. The news seems to have passed on the sly, but during the Financial Analyst Day 2022, Senior Vice President Saeid Moshkelani had communicated its availability. This obviously distorts the recent rumors, which gave these CPUs to be released for 2023.

Such a move is most likely aimed at countering Intel Raptor Lake processors, coming out at the same time. The Santa Clara range promises a big leap in performance with the increase in the core count, which on the Core i9-13900K will reach 24. AMD on the other hand has already shown that it is keeping up with the flagship Alder Lake models by introducing 3D V-Cache technology on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for the first time, with which it has been able to surpass, albeit only in the field of gaming, the best performing top of the range from Intel. The Sunnyvale-based company aims to do the same with Zen 4: even if the Raptor Lake CPUs will have a larger internal cache and a higher number of cores, the higher frequencies and the 3D V-Cache could allow the Ryzen 7000 to keep up with the most powerful competitor models. A very tight competition is therefore expected in the consumer segment.

The most recent rumors give the launch of Zen 4 processors for the September 15. Based on this, it is possible to expect the release of the versions with 3DV-Cache between November and December.
