The Ryzen 7 5800X3D exceeds 5.1GHz in overclocking

The launch of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor has caused enough discussion, as it is the first CPU for the consumer market equipped with 3D V-Cache, a solution that allows you to have cache memory stacked on the die to increase both its size (which in this specific model it amounts to 96MB of L3 cache) that the gaming performance up to 15%.

However, due to choices dictated by hardware characteristics (the voltage of 1.3-1.35V on the 3D V- Cache), the Sunnyvale-based company has disabled the ability to manually overclock via hardware, although the opportunity to overclock the Infinity Fabric and memory bus has been left open for those intending to engage in this area. > | id: th_hardware_d_mh2 "); }
As reported by colleagues at Wccftech, TSAIK, the MSI overclocker team, has brought the Ryzen 7 5800X3D even to 5,141.78MHz with a voltage of 1.2V and a BCLK of 113MHz on a 45.5 multiplier. To carry out this feat, an MSI MEG X570 Godlike motherboard (BIOS 1.G5T2 based on AGESA 1.2.0.6 C) was employed, as well as 8GB of DDR4-2400 RAM. The BIOS used is available to everyone, but it seems that there is another firmware not yet publicly distributed that can provide more overclocking performance.
