MSI is ready to launch its MAG B660M Mortar Max motherboard for Intel Alder Lake CPU, a particular model that will entice overclock enthusiasts thanks to the presence of an external clock generator Renesas RC26008, with which it will be possible to play with the frequencies even on non-K models. This is the first card with a B660 controller equipped with this feature, which will also support PCI-E 5.0, according to the info shared by the insider Chi11eddog.
MSI MAG B660M Mortar Max had already appeared in May, month in to which the same insider had published images showing the external clock generator on the board in the foreground. The user has revealed that availability will arrive in July, while showing the technical information on what appears to be the back of the box. In addition to the above specifications, there are also a PCI-E 3.0 x16 port with CrossFire support, 4 slots for DDR4-4800 + RAM memories, two M.2 PCI-E 4.0 slots for NVMe SSDs, 6 SATA III ports, USB Type-C and Type-A from 5 to 20Gbps, an integrated sound card with 8 channels, an Intel Wi-Fi 6E module and a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.

Staying on the MSI theme, the first PC has recently been leaked pre-assembled from the company equipped with a dedicated Intel Arc Alchemist A380 GPU. This video card also made its first debut in China, waiting for the range to be presented in the European market, placing itself as a direct competitor of the RX 6500 at a very affordable selling price that bodes well for the low-end.
