House of the Dragon

The first trailer for the new HBO series House of the Dragon is finally here! After some pictures from the Game of Thrones prequel were shown a few weeks ago, the first video with excerpts is now available for you. It is "just" a teaser with no great explanations. But that's easily enough to get a first foretaste.

Among other things, you can take a closer look at some of the most important characters. These include Prince Daemon Targaryen, who is played in the series by actor Matt Smith. The seafarer Corlys Velaryon, who is also known under the name "Sea Snake", does the honor in the trailer. You can even spot the earlier version of the Iron Throne, which looks a little more imposing than the Game of Thrones series. Unfortunately, nothing of the dragons, who are certainly among the real stars of the series, can be seen in the video. There is also no specific start date for House of the Dragon. Accordingly, only the somewhat vague statement 2022 remains in the room. Here is the trailer:

The focus is on the great Targaryen house and its demise. The story is based on the book "Feuer und Blut", which, like the other novels from the pen of the writer George R.R. Martin comes from. In addition to actor Matt Smith, Paddy Considine (King Viserys Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Emma D'Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen) and Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower, hand of the King of Westeros) are also on board.
