PUBG: Will the Battle Royale Shooter be Free2Play soon?

PUBG

The battle royale shooter PUBG is currently still chargeable - but that could change soon. Because as the well-known leaker "PlayerIGN" claims in a recent tweet, the change to a Free2Play model is imminent. However, he does not name any specific sources from which he claims to have obtained this information.

According to him, the developers are planning a test run for the Free2Play model for the next month (August 2021), which will last for a week should run. Above all, they want to observe the reactions of the community, which in turn will certainly play an important role in the final decision-making process. In other words: If the Free2Play test is well received by the fans, nothing stands in the way of a change in principle.

"PlayerIGN" also pointed out that there were similar plans two years ago. Even then, the developers were thinking of switching to a Free2Play model for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (buy now € 18.42). However, the corresponding test did not go to your satisfaction and the plans were ultimately rejected. In addition, it should be noted that the current message from the speaker is just a rumor that you should be careful with. "PlayerIGN" had already disclosed information several times that later turned out to be correct. So far, however, there has been neither a statement nor a confirmation of the Free2Play rumors on the part of the developers.
