Starfield, a new launch window appears

Over the past few hours, a possible new launch window for Starfield has popped up on Xbox Game Pass. The highly anticipated action-RPG from Bethesda was scheduled for November 2022, but was subsequently postponed to the first half of 2023. Now, a small footnote present on the Xbox client, may have revealed how in the plans of Todd Howard and associates there is the intention to debut their new game even earlier.

No, no advance to 2022, unfortunately. Starfield certainly still needs some time before being released on Xbox and PC consoles, but it could arrive a little earlier than the first half of 2023. As reported online, in fact, an Xbox Game Pass note states that the new game of Bethesda will be available early next year. To be faithful, the wording present is "Early 2023" and this can open to different interpretations by the community, especially related to a small advance of the launch window.

There are many mysteries around the new Bethesda game. No one has ever seen it in action and we do not know the plot, protagonists and actual gameplay. The Xbox and Bethesda showcase on Sunday 12 June 2022 could dispel these doubts, but don't count on receiving a new release date. For that, it will probably take some more time. New Starfield release date info appears on Xbox Game Pass website

New information around the Starfield release date has been spotted which potentially narrows down the window for when we can expect Bethesda’s space-bound RPG to launch.

After Starfield’s initial release date (which was planned to be November 11, 2022) was axed by Bethesda in order to add more “polish” to the game, it was pushed back to a much wider release window of “the first half of 2023”. However, as spotted by eagle-eyed Redditor ‘ganndalf’, the signup page for Xbox Game Pass includes a small disclaimer at the bottom around Starfield’s release date, with different wording.

The disclaimer reads: “Starfield: expected early 2023”. While this is still ambiguous, there is a distinct difference in wording here, with many interpreting “early” to mean the first quarter of the year. As always with these kinds of things, it is all down to semantics, and this doesn’t get us much closer to knowing exactly when Starfield will drop. But if this change of wording is intentional, it does suggest that Bethesda’s polishing has been coming along nicely.

Starfield was one of this year’s most highly-anticipated new releases, but suffered a similar fate to a handful of other blockbusters that were anticipated to release in 2022 getting pushed into 2023 instead.
