Elex 2: This is how long you will need to fully explore the world

Elex 2

At this year's E3, the developer studio Piranha Bytes announced the new role-playing game Elex 2. However, some questions still remained open. How long will the playing time be? How many NPCs will the hero meet in the course of the adventure? The development team recently provided the answers to these and many other questions as part of a presentation.

Of course, the length of the game depends on the individual playing style. But according to the statements of Piranha Bytes, it should take almost 60 hours until you have discovered almost everything in the world of Elex 2 - maybe a few hours more or less. You will meet a total of 100 types of opponents, so there shouldn't be a lack of variety in this regard.

There are also more than 300 NPCs that belong to different factions and are part of the actual story. They also have a lot to say, because the developers plan around 350,000 spoken words for all the characters in the role-playing game. There will also be some unique quest series depending on the respective members of your party - world quests and visiting dungeons are also on the adventurer's program.

Piranha Bytes also had a specific release date for Elex 2 do not elicit at this presentation. The team only emphasized that it will be "soon". The role-playing game is to be released for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. You can find more details in our preview of Elex 2.

ELEX 2 Features Over 300 NPCs, Up to 60 Hours Playtime

Even with all of the blockbuster announcements during E3 week, Piranha Bytes’ ELEX 2 didn’t get lost in the scuffle. The follow-up to the 2016 RPG, which received mixed reviews from critics but still has its supporters, is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. All we really know about the story is Jax gathering the various factions to fight off a mysterious threat.

Piranha Bytes recently held a presentation for the title which WCCF Tech attended. It was revealed there would be over 100 enemy types in the game while the five factions offered more than 300 NPCs that would play a part in the story. The overall number of spoken words is over than 350,000 with the NPCs having the lion’s share.

Fans of the original should also expect quite a bit of combat. Along with different party members each having their own unique questlines, there are also world quests and dungeons to explore. Experiencing everything will take up to 60 hours though it’s unknown if there will be multiple endings or branching decisions to encourage replaying the story.

ELEX 2 doesn’t currently have a release date but it is “coming soon.” Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
