PS5: woman arrested for selling two bottles instead of the console

PS5

Since the PlayStation 5 debuted, it has immediately become a console that cannot be found anywhere in the world, to say the least. Due to this scarce availability, which still continues today, the phenomenon of touts has arisen, with online advertisements that sell PS5 at crazy prices to say the least. As if that weren't enough, the rarity of the Sony console has also created various truly surreal situations, such as the recent case involving a Japanese woman.

The particular news comes to us thanks to the FNN editorial staff article (which is translated to us by Kotaku), in which we discover that in Japan a 41-year-old unemployed woman was arrested for fraud after sending a customer two bottles of water instead of a PS5. From what is said in the report, the woman would have sold the PlayStation 5 for about 590 dollars, but the buyer has never seen the console.

The PS5 arrived at the customer by cash on delivery, but in the box there were only a couple of two-liter bottles filled with water. The buyer was unable to contact the reseller and therefore contacted the police. "I shipped the packaged goods, but I don't remember what was inside," said the reseller, going to deny the alleged allegations of fraud against her.

The FNN report indicates that the police are currently investigating what happened further. In the meantime, we still don't know for sure when PS5 stocks will increase, but Sony itself recently said that forecasts point to the arrival of new consoles on the market no earlier than 2022.
