Bioshock 4: Apparently it's only available for PS5

Bioshock 4

It will certainly be some time before the next episode of the shooter series Bioshock hits the market. So far not even the official name is known - let alone details about the content or the story. But meanwhile there is at least a new rumor that will surely make some fans sit up and take notice: Allegedly, Bioshock 4 - or whatever the game will be called - will be released exclusively for the PS5.

This goes from the latest episode of the Podcasts from XboxEra. Accordingly, there should appear to be an exclusive deal between Sony and the publisher Take-Two Interactive, which provides for the release of the next Bioshock exclusively on the PS5. However, it does not seem to be clear whether this is a permanent or a time-limited exclusivity. The latter is no longer uncommon during these times and is usually limited to six to twelve months.

Such a partnership between the two companies is certainly not entirely unlikely, as they have worked well together several times in the past. In addition, Sony had already emphasized several times to take care of as many and above all good exclusive games for the PS5 as possible. The latest episode of Bioshock would fit in well with the program. However, so far there has been neither a statement nor a confirmation of this report from Sony or Take-Two. However, we may already be a little smarter after this year's E3, which is known to take place from June 12th to 15th, 2021.

Fast forward to 2021, and the latest iteration of E3 is knocking the door. Like every year, we have a lot of rumors surrounding the event. Take Two, the parent company of both 2K Games and Rockstar has confirmed its presence at E3 2021. This has started a series of rumors about its presence at E3 2021.

Amidst all that, a leaker has stated that Bioshock 4 might in fact be PlayStation exclusive. In his podcast, Youtuber Xbox Era, states that he is not aware of the fact that whether it will be a fully exclusive title or a timed exclusive. The leaker had a decent track record, but as with all leaks, this should be taken with a grain of salt.

This might be quite disappointing news for fans on other platforms, as many are eagerly waiting to play the game. That being said, it is quite unlikely that 2K Games would agree to a full exclusive title. If past trends are taken into consideration, the possibility of a timed exclusive seems to be the most obvious. For the record, the first Bioshock game came almost a year later on PlayStation. It seems like the tables are about to turn this around.
