We are almost there, after months that are anything but overly full of videogame releases, starting this week a whole series of really exciting news will arrive on the market. To kick off this period of new releases there will be Returnal, but in the coming weeks / months there will also be the turn of great titles such as Resident Evil Village and the new exclusive PlayStation 5 Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. Just a few moments ago, a very interesting new trailer was released for the latter.

Everything was published directly by Sony through its social channels and on the official PlayStation YouTube channel. After having already seen a whole series of dedicated trailers, today is the time to go a little deeper and see new pieces of gameplay from Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. The video lasting just under 2 minutes is full of news, and shows us several unpublished clips where the playable character becomes Rivet, the new Lombax already appeared in the previous films.

As we have always been used to, In the Insomniac Games saga, frenzy and the purest action reigns, all mixed with an arsenal of crazy weapons and gadgets. In this trailer we have the opportunity to see just some of the weapons that we will take with us in this new interdimensional adventure, which, for the first time, will see us take on the role of two different Lombax: the iconic Ratchet and the already beloved Rivet.

Finally, the whole trailer shows a variety of situations, enemies, truly enviable planets, and we really can't wait to get our hands on the new chapter of this saga. We remind you that Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart will be released on June 11th as an exclusive PlayStation 5.

More Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart details emerge ahead of State of Play stream

Sony shared some new details about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, including the name of the game’s mysterious new hero. More information will come during a State of Play stream this Thursday.


Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the PS5’s next big exclusive, following Returnal, which launches later this week. The highly-anticipated 3D platformer lands on June 11 and Sony is starting to roll out the red carpet for it.

A brand new trailer and accompanying blog post share some new facts about the game. First and foremost, the mysterious female Lombax featured in early trailers finally has a name: Rivet. Sony previously teased fans who were curious about her name, saying it would reveal it at a later date. Rivet is described as a “resistance fighter from another dimension.”


Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo fame is composing the game’s soundtrack. Mothersbaugh previously worked on the original Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter games. This is his first video game soundtrack since 2010’s Skate 3.


The trailer gives a fresh glimpse at some of the game’s new weapons and locations, including some alternate dimension versions of classic areas like Sargasso.

Sony finally unveiled the five armor sets coming as part of the game’s digital deluxe edition. Players will get the Imperial, Scavenger, Android, Rebel, and Hacker suits with the deluxe version.


In a tweet showing the new trailer, Sony has a new State of Play stream is coming on Thursday, April 29. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be the focus of the broadcast and players will get to see more than 15 minutes of “extended gameplay.” Sony says the stream will also feature updates on “a pair of upcoming indie titles.”
