Sony introduces two new native 4K home cinema projectors

Today Sony announced the launch of two new native 4K home cinema projectors (4096 x 2160) featuring the powerful "X1 for projector" image processor, based on technologies used in Sony's BRAVIA TVs and optimized for projectors. The processor includes innovative technologies for high-precision frame analysis that enable features such as Dynamic HDR Enhancer and Reality Creation.

The 2200lm VPL-VW890ES laser model with premium ARC-F (All- Range Crisp Focus) and the 1500lm VPL-VW290ES lamp model, deliver an immersive viewing experience that faithfully conveys the vision of content creators, with more realistic details and textures and optimal contrast. Both Sony 4K projectors feature unique Super Resolution Reality Creation technology and a native 4K panel that deliver high-quality, detailed images.

“A growing number of users are looking for immersive entertainment experiences at home, to watch a movie or just to play. Our native 4K SXRD projectors have been the market reference for this kind of experience for nearly a decade. Today we are delighted to announce these two powerful new models that add to the rich line-up of home cinema projectors available to our customers, ”commented Christopher Mullins, Home Cinema Product Manager at Sony Professional Displays & Solutions.

The new VPL-VW890ES and VPL-VW290ES will replace the previous models respectively, namely: the VPL-VW870ES and the VPL-VW270ES. Like their predecessors, the new models also include the reduced input lag mode, which greatly improves the display's reaction speed to ensure gamers have the best possible experience, along with the incredibly detailed image quality they expect from a product of high quality. As for the availability of both new projectors, finally, both the VPL-VW890ES and the VPL-VW290ES can be ordered starting today.
