Resident Evil: augmented reality game anticipates remake of Code Veronica?

Resident Evil

Just over a week away from the launch of Resident Evil Village, and it seems that Capcom still has several surprises in store for fans of the historic survival horror saga. Just a few hours ago we understood the postponement of the Re: Verse online multiplayer mode, and for a few moments a strange augmented reality game appeared on the net that is causing many fans to discuss and speculate.

Everything has started a few now it does via the official Resident Evil Reddit, where a somewhat mysterious augmented reality game was released. Everything is running a strange and very cryptic movie online, with fans of the horror series who for hours have been trying to extrapolate as many clues as possible to understand what everything is referring to. Some believe it is a way to advertise the upcoming Village, but many others are seeing us as a sort of anticipation for a possible remake of Code Veronica.

Dusk Golem, the well-known insider, has also come to add to the speculation always very close to the Resident Evil saga that, with a hat trick of posts on his Twitter, wanted to have his say on what is happening online in these hours. Dusk Golem is of the party that this mysterious augmented reality game refers to a game that is still unknown and that could be announced in the next few months.

(3/3) related, but it could just as easily be related to Resident Evil Outrage as that's likely getting announced a bit after Village, & I recall Revelations 2 did some similarly tricky ARG-ish marketing before its announcement.

To be seen! I'll be joining in on this ARG myself.

According to Dusk Golem, in fact, everything could refer to Resident Evil Outrage the game that in recent months the same insider has repeatedly cited as a title ready to be announced by Capcom not too long after the release of Village. We just have to follow the next updates of this augmented reality game to better understand where the Japanese company will take us.

If you have not already done so, you are still perfectly in time to reserve your copy of Resient Evil Village on Amazon at this address.

Resident Evil Re:Verse Not Actually Launching with Village

Pack-in game comes this summer

Resident Evil Re:Verse PS4

Since its reveal earlier this year, we've sort of assumed that Resident Evil Re:Verse would launch on the same day as its bigger and better brother Resident Evil Village — the date of 7th May 2021. Re:Verse is provided as a free pack-in like Resident Evil Resistance, after all. However, it turns out that's not actually the case. This multiplayer spin-off designed to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary will release this summer.

Word of the unexpected release window got out through a Resident Evil Ambassador Program email, which we received ourselves. It read: 'Resident Evil Re:Verse is created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil! The service is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2021!' Video Games Chronicle followed up with Capcom, and a spokesperson confirmed a release window had never been communicated until now. One reason why it won't arrive day and date with Resident Evil Village could be the recent beta phases, which haven't exactly gone according to plan. A pre-release test stopped short earlier this month because of matchmaking issues.

At least Resident Evil Village will still have a ton of content to keep us going until then when it arrives next week, including a campaign and the return of The Mercenaries mode. Had you been looking forward to Resident Evil Re:Verse? Explain why in the comments below.
