This keyboard is biodegradable and integrates an entire PC

Minimizing the environmental impact of its products and services is now a very important aspect of modern companies. Even the largest ones are doing everything to maximize the use of recycled materials and in the future it will be very important to protect the environment at all costs (for the good of all). Recently, the London-based company Pentaform unveiled a biodegradable keyboard, priced at 120 pounds (around 140 euros).

Called AbacusBasic, the product is not limited to being "just" a keyboard with a touchpad, but inside we find a real PC, very similar to the home computers of the 80s or Raspberry Pi 400. Obviously, this is an article with rather limited potential and more designed for children, teenagers or for those who otherwise may not be able to afford a traditional desktop or notebook. The outer case is made from a biodegradable polymer, while the internal components have been designed to be repairable and recyclable.

Joon Sang Lee, co-founder of Pentaform, said Abacus "sees the planet as one of its main beneficiaries". Although it comes standard with Windows 10, AbacusBasic is also suitable for Linux, where a lightweight distro could make all the difference.
