Downton Abbey, the official podcast arrives to relive the whole series

Downton Abbey

Just over a month away from the arrival at the cinema of the new Downton Abbey film: the new chapter in the saga originating from the British television series will be titled A New Era and will hit theaters on April 28th. The new adventure will see the life of the aristocratic Crowley family and their servants upset by two unexpected events: the arrival of a real film crew in Downton and the surprise acquisition of a mansion in the south of France. But for those who are impatient to immerse themselves again in the golden atmospheres of this dynasty, there is always the possibility of turning their gaze to the past. To do this better, a new podcast launched on March 15th that will accompany an entire rewatch of the series, available on different platforms such as Spotify, Apple, Amazon and others.

Unspecifiedly titled Downton Abbey: The Official Podcast, audio production is curated by Rotten Tomatoes journalist Jacqueline Coley and British presenter Anita Rai: the podcast will cover all 52 episodes of the series, including Christmas specials, the last of which aired in December 2015 Each week, therefore, the two voices will retrace the love and financial affairs of the Crowleys as they navigate the social changes but also the historical dramas that animated the 1910s and 20s of the English twentieth century. There will be insights into the cast, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, never-before-revealed secrets and even some rumors about the upcoming new movie.

Alongside the summary of the various events there will also be exclusive interviews with the key figures of the series, starting with its creator Julian Fellowes, also involved in this new A New Era. Also among the guests many actors of the cast such as Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Allen Leech, Elizabeth McGovern (but not, unfortunately, the legendary Maggie Smith), and then the producers, the historical consultants, the costume designer, the set designer and many others. In addition, director Simon Curtis and actor Dominic West, new entry among the interpreters of the film, will also intervene from A New Era. Downton Abbey is not the only series that has recently seen an expansion in the world of podcast: other audio recaps, for example, have been made in the United States to 'review' titles that are also very different from each other such as The West Wing, The Office, New Girl and One Tree Hill.
