The Ikea speaker lamp that looks like Darth Vader

A new particular tech product lands in the Ikea catalog, Vappeby, and is a lamp designed for outdoor life thanks to the waterproof body and portability, but also to multimedia since it incorporates a speaker able to connect wirelessly and spread the sound to 360 degrees. There are two peculiarities of this product: there is a button to connect to Spotify directly and the design closely resembles the helmet of Darth Vader from Star Wars.

It was since last autumn that there were rumors of an outdoor speaker lamp ready to debut in all Ikea in the world and the veils have been finely removed: Vappeby diffuses light and sounds, creating the right multisensory atmosphere thanks to a LED equipment with different lighting modes and a speaker that goes around the perimeter. The internal battery is recharged via usb type-c and guarantees up to 12 hours of autonomy, while the body is in solid, resistant and ip65 certified polycarbonate to avoid fear of rain or humidity. The handle on the top gives a nod to the past and allows for easy transport. The dimensions are 25 centimeters in height and 17 centimeters in diameter.

On the lower edge there is the knob to adjust the intensity of the brightness, the key to activate / deactivate the bluetooth to pair the lamp-speaker with the compatible smartphone or computer and the dedicated Spotify key which also acts as a switch on and that allows you to resume a song from where it was previously interrupted. It goes without saying that Vappeby can play music, podcasts and audio from other streaming services as well such as Amazon Music, Apple Music or YouTube music. Ikea Vappeby debuted in the US and also in Europe, for example in Germany at 49.99 euros, which is likely to arrive in Italy at a similar price.
