Intel Xe-HPG, does the company work on 5 different models?

Intel Xe-HPG

Several weeks ago we told you about the first specifications of Intel Xe-HPG, the range of video cards dedicated to gamers that should be equipped with GDDR6 memories and support the brand new PCIe 5.0 interface. According to the information leaked at the time, the top model would have offered performances in line with those of an RTX 3070, making 512EU available to users.

Credit: Videocardz Today, thanks to Igor's Lab, we get to know new information , no doubt interesting but as always to be taken with a grain of salt, given that these are rumors and that Intel tends not to comment on unofficial information. According to rumors, Intel is working on five different models, with configurations similar to those we will see on notebooks. The top-of-the-range solution would offer, as anticipated, 512EU (Execution Unit), combined with 16GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit interface, all with a 275W TDP.

The other models dedicated to gaming would be equipped respectively with 384EU, 12GB of GDDR6 memory and 192-bit and 256EU bus, 8GB of memory and 128-bit bus. All gaming solutions should finally share the 43 × 37.5 mm BGA62660 package.

According to the information reported, Intel is also working on two SKUs for the low-end, with 128 and 96 EU, 4GB of memory video and a 64-bit bus. These models would have a 29 × 29 mm BGA1379 package and would be aimed primarily at notebooks, however nothing would prevent them from including them in budget desktop configurations.

Taking into account the fact that the Xe-HPG architecture should take advantage of the Xe-LP's EU, it is surprising that rumors insist that the top-of-the-range desktop model will be equipped with 512 EUs. Also according to rumors, Intel will launch the two low-end models at the end of 2021, while it would have the three most performing models in store for the beginning of 2022: this information is also a surprise and it is difficult to believe, also given the recent treasure hunt organized. from Intel.
