Filming for The Witcher is officially over

Fans of The Witcher will be happy to know that filming for the show's second season is over. The news was confirmed a few minutes ago by the Netflix online streaming service, but the first advances had already arrived yesterday from Jacqueline Rathore, Henry Cavill's personal stylist.

With the shooting finished, the producers of the TV series can now begin the editing process and work towards airing. No release date has been revealed for the new season, so fans will have to wait patiently for more.

The Witcher season 2 filming has suffered a lot of slowdowns this past year due to the pandemic of COVID-19, in addition to the accident suffered by Henry Cavill who suffered a foot injury last year. In addition to Henry Cavill who plays the protagonist Geralt of Rivia, the new names are those of Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, Silent Witness), Cassie Clare (Brave New World, The Bisexual), Liz Carr (Silent Witness, Devs), Simon Callow, Graham McTavish (Outlander, Preacher), Kevin Doyle (Downton Abbey, Happy Valley) and Chris Fulton (Bridgerton, Outlaw King).

Based on the fantasy book series of the same name, The Witcher is an epic tale about destiny and the family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of the continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes and monsters fight to survive and thrive, and where good and evil are not easily identifiable.

In addition, the official Netflix YouTube channel today shared a video showing the behind-the-scenes footage of the episodes that make up this highly anticipated second season. In addition to this video, Cavill himself shared a closing image on his Instagram page where he can be seen in Geralt's new armor and holding the final take of the season. The Witcher's official Twitter account also posted a video with key crew members celebrating the conclusion.
