There must be some problem between Xbox and Square-Enix

With the announcement of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection it is now clear that Square-Enix no longer has an idyllic relationship with Xbox. The game has been announced for practically every possible platform on earth: PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android and even… Amazon Appstore, but not Xbox.

--> This is just another case after Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy XVI, Octopath Traveler 2 and Live a Live. Yet we have seen some strange cases, from the launch of Octopath Traveler on Xbox to Star Ocean until finally the arrival of Dragon Quest, but for every step forward, one cannot fail to notice a clear step backwards.

While Xbox has achieved a fundamental rapprochement with Japanese video games such as Persona or Guilty Gear, on the other hand it seems to have moved away from Final Fantasy and many Square-Enix games. We don't know if this is a will of the Japanese company, or if the agreements with Sony are so intrusive as to not allow it to release games on Xbox. Another point could be trivially related to sales, but this would not explain the launch of Crysis Core on Xbox and Final Fantasy Origins, however excluding the remake of the seventh chapter, now present everywhere.

In short, only time will tell us if things between Xbox and Square-Enix will improve, but as of today, anyone who wants to play titles such as Final Fantasy or Octopath Traveler would be better off buying a PS5 given the situation . Obviously what we hope is that all the titles can also be released on the American console, so as to allow everyone to fully enjoy the experiences, sometimes of great value.
