HiPhi Y, the Chinese electric car arrives in Europe by the end of the year

HiPhi Y

The Chinese car manufacturer HiPhi is about to take the first big step outside its reference market, with the aim of landing in Europe by the end of 2023: in China, HiPhi has been able to make itself known in few years, just 4 from its birth, bringing to the market two high-end models such as the HiPhi X SUV and the HiPhi Z sedan – we are talking about cars of important dimensions and with a price starting from €70,000, vehicles suitable for the Chinese market but which would find very little luck in Europe, where the premium brands present are much more consolidated.

--> It is for this reason that HiPhi has chosen to give life to a new model, probably called HiPhi Y , dedicated to the European market: it will not be a strictly economic model, it will not be a city car, but it will undoubtedly have dimensions ' smaller and a price more in line with the electric car models available in Europe.

Mark Stanton, CTO of HiPhi from Jaguar - Land Rover, spoke about the new course of the Chinese company in this way:

“After establishing the brand in the higher price segment and establishing our technology capabilities and premium capabilities, we will introduce relatively less expensive and more mass-produced cars”

The new HiPhi Y will probably be smaller than the other models in the catalogue, but this does not mean that it will be less technologically rich: in fact, on board the Y there will be fundamental technologies for the future of mobility such as connection technology 5G which will make it possible to exploit the V2X – Vehicle 2 Everything protocol.

-->

However, we know nothing about the car's technical data sheet: the older sister Z is equipped with a 120 kWh battery and is capable of traveling more than 700 km, calculated with the Chinese homologation cycle which is less stricter than the European WLTP.

The arrival in Europe is expected by the end of 2023, with the debut initially expected in Germany and Norway.
