Skullgirls 2nd Encore
Skullgirls 2nd Encore still expands its roster of fighters with the arrival of Umbrella, a very special new fighter who returns to all intents and purposes, as it was already foreseen in the original version of the fighting game in question.Umbrella is a very particular character, a young girl armed with a sentient umbrella and able to change shape, in addition to obviously being able to hit opponents in rather violent ways. It looks downright odd, but that's pretty much in line with the overall look of the game from Hidden Variable and Autumn Games.
There's no release date for Umbrella yet, but we know it's coming in the course of 2021 and has a sort of teaser trailer that still shows very little but in the meantime lays the foundations for the arrival of the bizarre character. It should also be noted that Skullgirls 2nd Encore continues its path, despite the title being released some time ago.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore will soon welcome Umbrella too Umbrella will also be usable in the Skullgirls Mobile version for platforms iOS and Android. The character is still in development, but the authors still wanted to announce it also to signal how big changes have been made compared to the initial project on the fighter armed with an umbrella.
The release of Umbrella will take place through several progressive phases: the Buyers of the Skullgirls 2nd Encore Season Pass 2 on Steam will have access to the Alpha within two months from now, while a further early access is expected in the third quarter of 2021. The actual release, in full form, will instead take place in the last quarter of 2021. Skullgirls 2nd Encore also arrived on Nintendo Switch a couple of years ago.

Publisher Autumn Games and developer Hidden Variable have announced Skullgirls 2nd Encore Season 1 Pass downloadable content character Umbrella. She is planned for release in 2021. She will also be playable in Skullgirls Mobile.

Gameplay Synopsis
While Umbrella is still very early on in development, we wanted to share some details about where her gameplay direction is heading at the moment. Please note that this is all HEAVILY subject to change after further testing and development, and the terms used to describe her toolkit and states are a work in progress…
Umbrella is a small character with BIG swings thanks to her living weapon, Hungern. While she is slow with limited movement options, she can use special moves to approach with some risk.
Most of her attacks will involve Hungern in some way. Hungern will get hungrier as the match goes on or after performing certain actions, and his hunger level will influence his move properties.
For example, If Hungern is STARVING, normals that use him are slower, but moves that involve devouring the opponent are stronger. If Hungern is OVERSTUFFED, moves that involve him conjuring something from the depths of his stomach may have bonus effects. Hungern is quite RAVENOUS and dangerous when he is hungry but not yet STARVING—expect to be rewarded if you can maintain this narrow window of power! Umbrella players will have to manage Hungern’s hunger level or at least adapt to how her moves change based on Hungern’s state.
Release Timing
While we don’t have any official dates to share, since Umbrella is being developed in parallel for 2nd Encore and Mobile, you’re going to be able to play her earlier than ever!
Skullgirls 2nd Encore is available now for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam. It is also available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita, but these versions will not receive any future downloadable content.
