Elden Ring, what does the gameplay trailer leak reveal? All the details on video!

Elden Ring

A real "Elden Ring fever" is now officially circulating in the videogame community, with the new game From Software that continues to be highly anticipated.

To unleash the fans of the works of the author team of Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice thought about a sudden leak that landed on the net during the day of Monday 1 March. After several insiders and videogame journalists reported having spotted a video leak in private chats, the latter finally became available to the general public. Originally released online only in very low resolution, the Elden Ring trailer leak has been brought to 720p thanks to the use of AI by fans.

At the moment, it is not certain that what has been leaked is actually authentic - in whole or in part - nor is there any information on which build it might actually represent. Pending certainties or denials from Bandai Namco or From Software, the editorial team tried to carefully analyze the details visible in the video leaks. The results of our examination could only be collected in a movie dedicated to the possible gameplay characteristics of the long-awaited Elden Ring: you can find it directly at the opening of this news or on the Everyeye YouTube Channel.

Leaked ‘Elden Ring’ Trailer Shows Brighter, Bigger Evolution For FromSoftware

Well it took about a full day, but I finally managed to find all the supposedly leaked footage from Elden Ring, which includes most of a trailer and part of a cutscene/gameplay. I’m not going to embed it here, but at the time of this writing, this tweet is the best place to check it out for yourself.

Prior to this, we have known next to nothing about Elden Ring other than the mouth-watering concept that it was a joint effort between Dark Souls’ Hidetaka Miyazaki who recruited George RR Martin to write the world and lore.

The footage, however blurry and covered in “confidential” stamps, indicates at least some measure of a departure from past Souls games and Bloodborne.

We may still be rolling and stabbing in fantastical medieval times here, but the entire aesthetic is much, much brighter than what we’ve seen in past games, and I’m getting more LOTR vibes than I was expecting. It also seems a lot more heavily focused on using magic in combat, more than Souls, at least.

Similarly, while there will no doubt be winding passageways and bridges to fall off of, as promised, the physical space here seems a lot more expansive, which allows for horseback traversal and combat. What a FromSoftware “open world” will ultimately look like is anyone’s guess, but we can catch a glimpse of that here.

Elden Ring was announced at E3 back in 2019, meaning it’s been almost two years since we’ve seen or heard anything about it, which has quickly turned the game into a meme, a new Half-Life 3 for the current era as whenever there is any big gaming show, everyone is hoping for Elden Ring to show up.

When this trailer was planned to debut is unclear, but Microsoft recently shot down rumors that it would appear at their upcoming show. In this day and age where most events are digital, it’s likely FromSoftware may have just chosen to debut it…whenever they wanted to, not attached to an event, specifically.

Now that the trailer has leaked, it does seem like the best course of action is probably to release a full, high quality version of it so fans don’t have this pixelated version to sort through. But the one leaked may not have been finalized and there still could be work to do.

What the trailer shows, however, is no, the game is not vaporware, it does exist and is being worked on, making it very un-Half-Life 3-like indeed.

I have no idea when we’ll see a real version of this spot. You may just want to wait for that one instead of watching the trash quality version, but it’s up to you. It has been two years after all, and everyone is desperate for crumbs.
