Spider-Man Miles Morales uses machine learning on PS5

With Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales at over 4 million copies sold, the post-launch support proposed by Insomniac Games for the adventure in the spider-universe continues.

In particular, the software house Sony has to recently published a new update for the exclusive PS4 and PS5</a>, with which new features have been introduced for the graphic rendering of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5. On the new generation console, in fact, a new system for rendering the effects of the deformation of the muscles has been implemented for some skins, aimed at making poses and animations more realistic. The latter has been enabled exclusively on the PlayStation 5 version of the game and only for some of the superhero's costumes.

Interesting details about the technology used by Insomniac Games emerge shortly after the update arrives. To achieve the result, the team relied on a machine learning system called ZivaRT (Ziva Real Time). The latter allows for real-time, cinematic shape deformation effects. After having acquired a sample of shapes and poses, the technology "instructs" a specific model on the dynamics that regulate its deformation. At the moment, ZivaRT has been applied to the Classic, Great Responsibility, Winter, Uptown Pride costumes and the new Advanced Tech Suit from Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. To highlight the effects generated by the technology, Insomianc has published some comparative images, which you can find attached to the Tweet at the bottom.
