Animal Crossing X Disney: from Hercules to Mulan, the incredible creations of a fan

Animal Crossing X Disney

With Animal Crossing: New Horizons becoming the second best-selling game on Nintendo Switch, the life simulator boasts an incredibly large and creative community.

The success of the Big N exclusive shows no signs of slowing its success overwhelming, with the first anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons that saw the tropical adventure still present in many sales charts. The network of creative gamers, ready to transform the title into an incredible editor for the creation of sequences inspired by the most disparate productions, therefore also extends without stopping. Among the latter, we certainly find an active fan on YouTube as "ACNH Disney Resort".

The latter has in fact ventured into the reconstruction of some musical moments of great Disney classics. The enthusiast's most recent creation is Hercules-themed, with an impressive reproduction of the Zero to Hero song from the animated film: a result that took about two months of work! But ACNH Disney Resort has also tried its hand at other great classics. At the bottom, for example, you can find an extract from Mulan and a movie dedicated to one of the most touching sequences of Up, the flashback that presents the past of the elderly protagonist. What do you think of the final result?

Those crafty and talented Animal Crossing: New Horizon players are at it again. This time someone spent two months recreating the “Zero To Hero” song featured in Disney’s animated Hercules film from 1997.

This impressive feat of editing and creativity was made by Reddit user Melhunnibee. According to Reddit comments left by the user, this recreation took about two months to put together. They filmed most of the scenes on Harv’s Island using green backgrounds. They then digitally hand-painted backgrounds and merged the shots with the art, editing the whole thing to match the song’s timing.

As someone who’s a big fan of Hercules and who REALLY loves this song in particular, I was surprised just how accurate this recreation is and I got to listen to “Zero To Hero” again, which is always a good thing in my book.

Similarly dedicated fans not long ago recreated the first act of Hamilton in Animal Crossing: New Horizon. By 2025 I assume I’ll be watching a show on Netflix that was made in Animal Crossing.
