Almost a year after its release, Animal Crossing New Horizons is today celebrating two very welcome anniversaries. The first, of course, concerns the first anniversary of the game. Released on March 20, the new iteration of Animal Crossing arrived on Nintendo Switch in a time that was anything but easy. In full pandemic, however, the Nintendo title managed to escape millions and millions of players who, in a very delicate period, were able to live a second life in a friendly, peaceful and welcoming place.
The second Animal Crossing New Horizon's milestone is about becoming the second best-selling game on Nintendo Switch since the console hit the market in March 2017. A devastating result that brings the 2020 title to 31.18 million copies sold, according to only to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the currently best-selling Nintendo Switch game globally, with 33.41 million copies.
A truly incredible result that obtained by Animal Crossing New Horizons, and which, above all, arrives in perfect moment going to coincide with the celebrations for the first anniversary of the release of the title. We are sure that this is only one step for the Nintendo title and we look forward to celebrating this and the next important in-game events in our islands.
