Cyberpunk 2077: no Ray Tracing at launch on AMD GPUs
Yesterday, CD Projekt RED unveiled some new Ray Tracing footage of their upcoming and highly anticipated title, Cyberpunk 2077, as well as revealing the system requirements for their new open world first person RPG. However, only the NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards were mentioned regarding the Cyberpunk 2077 ray tracing specifications, although the brand new AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards are also capable of supporting ray tracing.

Answering To a fan on Twitter, CD Projekt RED's Global Community Lead Marcin Momot specified that Cyberpunk 2077 will not support Ray Tracing on new AMD Radeon GPUs at launch. However, he also stated that such support will still be implemented as soon as possible. So, it's just a matter of time for owners of the new AMD Radeon 6800, 6800 XT and 6900 XT graphics cards.

Not for the release but we are working together with AMD to introduce this feature as soon as we can.

Thinking about it, it's possible that CD Projekt RED is taking some time to optimize the functionality of Ray Tracing on the new AMD GPUs or it is reasonable to think that behind this story there are actually marketing agreements entered into with NVIDIA, just as happened with Godfall - a title created in collaboration with AMD, optimized for AMD Radeon graphics cards. .

Hopefully this is not the actual process to enjoy the improvements, such as Ray Tracing, presented by the ninth generation videogame games, as it would be rather annoying.
