Microsoft responds to Sony's allegations and points the finger at PlayStation exclusives

Microsoft has responded to Sony's accusations regarding the risk of a monopoly situation after the acquisition of Activision, and has done so also and above all by pointing the finger at the PlayStation exclusives, especially the third party ones.

How you will remember, Sony has expressed to the Brazilian antitrust (but apparently the situation is more or less the same in the various countries) its perplexities about the important operation, beating on two topics in particular: the fact that Call of Duty has no rivals and the excessive growth of Xbox Game Pass.

There has been a lot of talk about it: it is a completely legitimate strategy on the part of a direct competitor, which obviously tries to embarrass the other party by preventing it from becoming more relevant and to steal users from him.

Well, as mentioned Microsoft has responded to these accusations by highlighting Sony's conduct on the front of exclusives, including third party ones, as well as the f note that even the Japanese house has absolutely recognizable brands associated with PlayStation.

"Sony and Nintendo have a strong and differentiated offer, which includes their own exclusive games", reads the note from Microsoft sent to New Zealand antitrust. "For example, IDC has identified that Sony's 2018 exclusives include God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man, in addition to other major productions such as The Last of Us and Uncharted."

"Well, these titles reflect a vertical integration of Sony (see for example the company's film studios that own the Spider-Man license), but also a broader strategy that aims to obtain the rights to create exclusive third parties for their consoles. " In this sense, the document explicitly mentions Final Fantasy VII.
