The new Thermalright M.2 SSD heatsink is ready for the future

The well-known manufacturer Thermalright presented its new heatsink for M.2 SSD, called HR-09, also available in the “Pro” variant (which doubles the available aluminum surface). Already the modern PCIe 4.0 SSDs, on high-end models, need a heatsink to avoid running into problems of overheating and consequent decrease in performance due to Thermal Throttling. However, the situation is sure to get worse with the upcoming arrival of PCIe 5.0 drives that are even faster and, consequently, “hotter”.

Its dimensions are 48x24x79 mm, while the weight is expected to be around 80 grams. For the most demanding users, and who absolutely want to keep temperatures under control at any cost, we also find the Pro version, which doubles the number of heatpipes (two) and the dimensions in height (now equal to 74mm), while the weight increases. of only 10 grams.
