The release date of the anime film Drifting Home

We finally have the release date on Netflix of the anime film Drifting Home (Ame or Tsugeru Hyōryū Danchi) produced by Studio Colorido (Miyo - A feline love, Penguin Highway). The study, through a teaser, reveals that the film will debut on the platform worldwide on September 16 and that it will also be screened in theaters in Japan starting from the same day. Studio Colorido also revealed a new visual for the film as well as the main cast.

Staff sees Hiroyasu Ishida (Penguin Highway, Fumiko's Confession) directing the anime and writing the script alongside Hayashi Mori (Cells at Work! Code Black, retrieved the main manga on Amazon, Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File) and Minaka Sakamoto (Babylon). Akihiro Nagae (Fastening Days) is designing the characters while Fumi Katō (direct of the Penguin Highway animation) is the assistant character designer. Umitarō Abe (Penguin Highway) is composing the music and Twin Engine is taking care of the planning.

Drifting Home centers on Kōsuke and his childhood friend Natsume. The two have recently entered sixth grade and are entering an awkward phase of their friendship and have started avoiding each other. One day during the summer holidays, they visit an apartment building that is about to be demolished, where the two lived. Suddenly, Kōsuke, Natsume and their friends are enveloped in a strange phenomenon, and the entire building is surrounded by an ocean. The group of friends must try to find their way home from the adrift building.
