Russia prepares to boost domestic semiconductor production

Russia has been on everyone's lips for a couple of months now, ever since it decided to invade Ukraine and start a conflict that is still continuing today. Despite the numerous criticisms and sanctions received from many countries around the world, including Italy, the country is thinking about how to make and enhance its internal semiconductor production, so as to be less dependent on foreign states.

Indeed, the goal, with an investment of approximately 3,190 billion rubles (37.24 billion euros at current exchange rates) in the development of microelectronics (which also includes the creation of home chips, data center infrastructure and more), is to produce components internally on a 28nm node by 2030 (remember that, for comparison, TSMC will reach 2nm by 2026).| ); }
