Red Dead Redemption 2: Standalone version for RDO announced, update next week
Rockstar Games confirms a standalone version of Red Dead Online. As the developers announced in a recent blog entry, the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 can be purchased as a standalone game from December 1st. The release will take place in the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store and on Steam. "For the first time players who do not yet own Red Dead Redemption 2 can experience everything that Red Dead Online has to offer. They also get access to all future content updates," the developers write.

It Red Dead Online will be offered until February 15, 2021 at an introductory price of 4.99 euros - and thus initially with a discount of 75 percent. A PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership is required to play. The annual subscriptions cost around 60 euros each. The versions of Red Dead Online for PS4 and Xbox One are also playable on the new console due to the backward compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The developers also give details on the storage space: The standalone edition of Red Dead Online occupies around 123 gigabytes on your hard drive. It includes the option to unlock the Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode separately. Rockstar Games does not name a price for this. (buy now € 17.45 / € 39.99)

The developers have announced a new Bounty Hunters expansion for the coming week. "The bounty hunter role is being expanded and new criminals must be arrested and equipment and skills of the 'Renowned' level unlocked over 10 more bounty hunter ranks. In addition, you can expect new legendary bounty hunts and a new outlaw pass with 100 ranks" writes Rockstar Games.
