McLaren Elva: incredible performance for the English sports car
Presented almost a year later, McLaren Elva represents the fifth car in the McLaren Ultimate Series, following the Speedtail, Senna, P1 and historic F1. With a cost of approximately 1.7 million dollars, the supercar is rightfully placed in the ranking of the most expensive cars ever produced up to now. Built in just 249 units and the extraordinary Elva - with extremely captivating and unique lines - will guarantee a driving with formidable performance, thanks to its speed and power.

The name derives directly from the first racing cars developed by Bruce McLaren, such as the M1A, M1B and M1C which were produced between 1964 and 1967; due to the reduced workforce, the production of these sports cars was entrusted to the British car manufacturer Elva.

Impeccable performance is the result of innovative solutions that could identify Elva as a reference point for the entire segment. Thanks to the performance that the McLaren brand car is able to guarantee, the car has even been compared to a superbike. Well, one of the peculiarities of the McLaren Elva, apparently "strange", is the absence of a windshield.

In fact, despite the very high speeds it can reach, the sports car was designed without such element. However, this lack can be justified by the Active Air Management System (AAMS) that is an extremely innovative system, thanks to which - basically - a sort of virtual windscreen is created that conveys the air above the passenger compartment, with the use of a deployable carbon fiber deflector on the hood.

The heart of the McLaren Elva

The McLaren brand car is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of delivering a maximum of 804 hp and 800 Nm of torque directly on the axle of the rear wheels. Rear-wheel drive and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission complete the technical picture of the spectacular McLaren Elva. Thanks to these technologies, the British car is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in about 3 seconds, while in just 6.7 seconds it reaches 200 km / h.

With Elva, McLaren it responds directly to Ferrari's super-fast boat known as the Monza SP1 (and SP2); compared to the solution of the company from Woking, the Maranello variant houses the classic 6.5-liter V12 engine derived from 812 SuperFast.
