Distance learning: the lessons do not consume Giga
The millions of students who in this period find themselves stuck at home and who daily follow the online lessons of distance learning will be able to do so without consuming the data traffic made available by the operators who offer access to mobile networks. This is what the agreement signed by the Government with TIM, Vodafone and WINDTRE provides.

Distance learning does not consume data traffic (and in hotspots?)

Telcos have been called into question by the Ministers of Education, Equal Opportunities and the Family, Economic Development and Technological Innovation and Digitization with the declared aim of facilitating the activity of children and the commitment of their families, who suddenly found themselves having to to deal with a new need.

At the moment, none of the three operators seem to have reported the news and related details on their respective official websites. However, we received a press release from Vodafone referring to the possibility of activating the Pass Smart Meeting option from today on the My Vodafone app or in the Do-It-Yourself area of the portal (deactivation will be automatic after three months). br>
TIM had already moved in this direction in recent months by offering E-Learning Card, a card intended for those who are customers of the operator with a rechargeable plan that allows access for one year to the most used remote teaching platforms at no additional cost: Google Suite for Education, Microsoft Office 365 Education A1, WeSchool, Skype, Zoom, Amazon Chime, Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, Jitsi Meet and Axios Electronic Register.

To check what happens using the smartphone as a hotspot to follow the lessons from the larger screen of the computer, a rather common practice. It is not even clear which platforms are affected by the agreement. We will update the article as soon as further details are available. We conclude with the words of Lucia Azzolina, Minister of Education.

When you face an emergency like the one we are experiencing, you really need everyone's support. Since March, the state has already invested over 400 million for digital at school. Initiatives like this reinforce the commitment to support female students and students. Thanks to those who joined the project.
