Viva Engage is Microsoft Teams' new Facebook

The technology giant Microsoft recently announced that the Teams app will have a real social network similar to Facebook, designed to encourage social networking at work, called Viva Engage.

The origins of this project dates back to the acquisition of the corporate social network Yammer about 10 years ago, which had the aim of maximizing socialization and the exchange of information between work colleagues. Visually, Viva Engage is very similar to Meta's popular social network and will be available in Microsoft Teams' Communties app starting in late August.

Viva Engage will continue to show the same network, starter feed, and communities you see in Yammer today. All content created on Yammer.com or mobile, including community conversations, storyline posts and stories, will be viewable in Viva Engage. Likewise, content created in Engage will appear in native Yammer experiences.

Recently, Microsoft has turned around on an important choice for Office, ie the default block of VBA macros in downloaded documents. This, however, created some discontent among those who welcomed this change to improve workplace safety. Find more details about it in our previous dedicated news.
