Three very rare Ferrari V12 prototypes up for auction

The lucky owners of the LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta will be pleased to know that the two models mentioned are not, in fact, the only ones available on the market; Mecum Auctions has in fact presented a series of prototypes commonly used as forklifts to test cars waiting to be produced and marketed. Each car represents a different phase of LaFerrari's three-year road development program.

To be more precise, these are the F150 Muletto M4, Mulotupo MP1 and Preserie PS1 models. It is not known why Ferrari saved these three forklifts from demolition, but it is likely that for the Cavallino they represented a significant turning point; after all, the LaFerrari was the first hybrid ever and it was the car that allowed the brand to initiate the electric transition. The first prototype of the LaFerrari used the platform of the 458 Italia equipped, however, with a hybrid V12. Unlike the final model, it adopted a 6-liter V12, rather than the current 6.3 V12 that uses the LaFerrari; Entirely known as the F150 Muletto M4, this car was built to test all emission parameters. F150 M4 Forklift is finished in matte black paint and comes with black leather seats and carbon fiber trim.

Although they all have the Ferrari Classiche Certification, the cars cannot be registered for circulation on the public road and therefore it is foreseeable that they may end up in some collection of a rich and wealthy collector.
