The first tablet with a color e-ink display

Bigme is a special tablet that looks like the first in the world equipped with a color e-ink display so as to offer an experience completely comparable to that of a sheet of paper when writing or drawing. In addition, it also includes a dual camera (front and rear) which makes the hardware of this device completely comparable to that of a normal mid-level digital tablet. The equipment naturally includes a capacitive stylus for sketches and notes in the most natural way possible, then to be saved in memory or shared with contacts or on the cloud. On Kickstarter it is already raising a budget much higher than the minimum amount required for production and therefore its debut is already planned.

Bigme's data sheet revolves around the large 10.3-inch e-ink display at InkNote Color type colors that reach a resolution of 1872 x 1404 pixels with a not bad density of 226 pixels per square inch; if desired, it is also possible to set the monochrome view to save on battery or when you are reading a book or a site and do not want distractions. You can also set one of four levels of screen refresh depending on whether you are reading, browsing the web, watching photos or videos. Governed by an octa-core processor accompanied by 6 GB of ram and 128 GB of internal memory, this tablet is based on Android 11 and can download applications from the official Play Store which is well present in the basic equipment.

In order not to tire the eyes there are 36 levels of brightness depending on the ambient light. Among the pre-loaded software functions there is also the possibility to easily convert the voice (37 languages supported, Italian included) or the writings on photos into usable text. There are two integrated cameras, with an 8-megapixel one on the back for advanced image recognition and a 5-megapixel one on the front that can be used for video calls or selfies. The included stylus is equipped with keys to move through the pages, a microphone, a laser pointer and guarantees 4096 levels of pressure. Finally, for the right security there is a fingerprint scanner. It is still possible to finance the project and get a unit of the tablet with color e-ink display for a price of around 528 euros with shipments expected in October.
