A Nintendo-themed scam is ongoing on eBay

A real scam is underway on eBay, starring one of Nintendo's lesser-known items. Let's talk about the soundtracks of some console games of the Japanese giant: a UK retailer is in fact selling fake CDs, at very high costs. A collector known on Twitter as Breegull discovered the scam, documenting the scam in great detail.

As reported by Breegull, the scam has even spread to Japan. The images spread on Twitter speak for themselves: the CD is completely different, from some barely visible details such as the hole with which to grab it up to the color. At the moment the selling prices of the soundtracks are relatively low, ranging from 19 to 62 dollars. Some of these CDs, however, are being resold in Japan for a much higher price of around $ 300.

Beyond the scam, which we hope eBay can stop as soon as possible, VGC has pointed out that in reality one of the main culprits of this market may be Nintendo. The lack of official soundtracks, CD reissues or even the lack of inclusion on Spotify would only increase the phenomena related to piracy and scams. Hypothesis of course, but we invite you not to buy anything on eBay or other sites without carefully checking every detail of the listing. Scam, as always in the society we live in, is definitely around the corner.
