Raspberry Pi becomes the brain of a Terminator

The community of enthusiasts who give free rein to their imagination through the use of Single Board Computers such as Raspberry Pi is growing more and more. On the pages of geekinco we talk to you quite frequently about the most interesting projects that appear on the web and the protagonist of today's news is a project created by Michael Darby of 314Reactor who used a Raspberry Pi 4 and other components to give life to a Terminator T-800 (or rather, only to his skull), a well-known cyborg protagonist of the film saga of the same name.

To achieve the desired result, Darby used a life-size prop, which allowed the maker to put inside a Raspberry Pi 4 with 8GB of RAM, as well as a speaker for playing sounds and a camera module in the eye. In practice, using Machine Learning (ML) techniques, like a real Terminator, the device is able to recognize objects detected by the camera and synthesize speech.

Recently, we also told you about another interesting project, created by Adrian Papineau, which transformed a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W into a device similar to the nunchuck of the Nintendo Wii console connected to wearable glasses with display. Find more information in our previous dedicated article.
