Peugeot 408

A few days ago Peugeot unveiled the new 408, a decidedly new car in terms of shapes and proportions; it is an SUV, it is a crossover, it has attractive interiors and a refined design, and offers various electrified engines and a 100% electric version.

The Peugeot 408 line is particular, it is based on an SUV platform and is slightly raised (19 cm above the ground), but the bodywork is that of a sedan with a coupe roof: a nice mix of elements that have been expertly mixed by the Peugeout designers, not new to cars capable of capturing the attention.

Under the hood there are various engines: the entry one is a 1.2 turbo petrol with 130 horsepower, followed by a 4-cylinder 1.6 turbo petrol with plug-in hybrid system which can bring the overall power to 180 or 225 horsepower, depending on the version chosen. The battery is 12.4 kWh and can be recharged up to 7.4 kW. All engines feature an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

It is called iCockpit, and offers the driver 3 screens: one is dedicated to digital instrumentation, the second 10 ″ it is used for the infotainment system, and the third, smaller one performs the function of creating shortcuts for the most important functions of the car - climate control, audio, navigation and system settings.

Peugeot 408 will arrive on the market in 2023, and in the coming months we will also find out more about the 100% electric variant.
