According to the information, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 will run at 720p on consoles, the same resolution we have on Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, available since 2011.

720p resolution applies on all consoles, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S. The game supports 60 FPS, less on Nintendo Switch which will be at 30 FPS.

“We use the HD Collection versions of MGS2 and MGS3 for portability - so resolution (720p) and performance will match the 2012 HD Collection.”

Just to give you an idea, even the menus for the aforementioned games quote “©2012 Konami”, without mentioning the “HD Edition” tag. In general, it is said that these versions of the game are practically the same ones made by Bluepoint.

Another important detail is that Konami has officially confirmed that there are no changes in the history of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection. The game is fully faithful to Hideo Kojima's original vision.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on October 24th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC via Steam, featuring Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
