Ubisoft opens the Global Creative Office

Ubisoft has announced the creation of the Global Creative Office, with the aim of giving greater autonomy and creative freedom to its development teams, while ensuring the production of high quality titles.

"The goal is that of enhancing creativity and ensuring the highest quality in the creation and publication of Ubisoft games ", reads the press release of the French company, which wants to move away from a centralized organization" to better support the key segments of the strategic portfolio ".

"Based on the vision of the group, each pole will use its experience to deepen the specificities of its audience, game design and technology".

In the meantime he will continue to work on the integration of the new offices together with Marie-Sophie de Waubert, who will temporarily fill Manceau's role in the near future.

Organization to be split into poles, chief creative officer Igor Manceau to depart


Ubisoft has created a new global creative office, which it says will elevate creativity and ensure that it delivers high quality games.


The organization will be made of poles, which Ubisoft said 'will leverage [their] expertise to dive into the specificities of [their] audiences, game design and tech.'


The company added that moving anyway from being a centralized firm can better support the key segments of the company.


Additionally, the announcement said that chief creative officer Igor Manceau, who was central to the creation of the new global creative office, will be departing the publisher by the end of next month. He had joined Ubisoft in September 2021.


Ahead of Manceau's departure for personal reasons in November, he will continue working on implementing the office alongside Marie-Sophie de Waubert, SVP of studios, Martin Schelling, SVP of production, Sandrine Caloiaro, chief portfolio officer, and Guillemette Picard, SVP of production technology and studio managing directors.


De Waubert will temporarily oversee the global creative office's management following Manceau's exit.
