Microsoft's Surface series of laptops consists of a wide choice, ranging from standard models to those belonging to the Pro and Studio ranges. However, it seems that the Redmond house, after the launch of the most recent Surface Pro 8, intends to further enrich its offer with new 2 in 1 laptops designed for gaming. The specifications of this potential new series have been shared on theprimegaming.com website and include high-end components.

Microsoft's new gaming laptops will have a 16-inch Pixelsense FlowDisplay with Quad HD resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels), refresh rate of 165Hz and support for Dolby Vision. There are two options with different configurations for CPU, GPU and RAM memory: the first includes an Intel Core i5-12500H (12 cores, 16 threads, 18MB cache and maximum frequency of 4.5GHz) together with a 4GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, the second is instead equipped with Intel Core i7-12700H (14 cores, 20 threads, 24MB cache and maximum frequency of 4.7GHz) accompanied by an 8GB RTX 3070 Ti. Both models are available with 16 or 32GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

As for the autonomy, that of the model with Intel Core i5 is declared be 16 hours, while the Surface with Core i7 drops to 15 hours. Both devices are made of magnesium and aluminum and will be available in platinum and matte black colors. The weight of the i5 model is 1.9Kg, while the variant with i7 reaches 2Kg. All that remains is to wait for official statements from Microsoft regarding price and availability. The new devices should be announced at the Surface event on September 22.
