Forspoken: Now we know how long it will last, the co-director tells us

Forspoken

In these days we have returned to talk about Forspoken, and even we at Game Division have been able to get our hands on the next great experience of Square-Enix and Luminous Production. We have seen the game in action over and over in several videos, but the launch date is still quite far away. Despite this, the title is continuing to gain attention, and the project co-director himself recently stated how long Frey's journey within Athia could last.

During the chat, Terada also wanted to mention that throughout the adventure proposed by Forspoken, there will also be many secondary missions that are not directly associated with the fate of Athia's world. These side activities will keep players busy for several additional hours within the game, which comes as a product with lots to do.

We still know very little about the history of Forspoken, but Frey's journey to discover this new fantastic world will surely last tens and tens of hours. We remind you that the first work by Luminous Production will be released on January 24, 2023, with the title that will only be available on the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. There are still several months left, and for this reason it is very likely that the title will return to show itself from here to the release with new contents related to the world of Athia and everything that awaits us.

Forspoken Will Reportedly Take 30-40 Hours to Beat, According to Co-Director

Forspoken PS5 PlayStation

Forspoken is a title that has been getting a lot of press lately, some of it good, some of it not so much. The title is being developed by Luminous Productions, of Final Fantasy XV fame, and is set to launch on 24th January on PS5.

In an interview with Spanish-language website 3DJuegos, and as relayed by MP1st, Forspoken co-director Takeshi Terada has revealed that players can expect an average playthrough of Forspoken to take approximately 30-40 hours to complete.

That's specifically to beat the main story, and Terada mentions that Forspoken's endgame will feature plenty of secondary missions and extra exploration to keep players busy. Of course, we won't know for sure until we get our hands on the game to know for sure, as playtime is a tricky metric to nail down.

One cannot discount the marketing spin that developers and publishers often put on playtime, either. Never forget the outrageous claim that Dying Light 2 would take '500 hours' to complete, which was almost immediately walked back to 'if you want it to'.
