Raspberry Pi turned into an encrypted backup system

Previously we have seen several Raspberry Pi projects that turned this small system of infinite potential into anything, such as a doorbell that sends Telegram notifications, a DIY router, or a door unlocking system via facial recognition, if not even the terminator brain. A Japanese user has even managed to turn an old 1950s movie camera into a digital camera.

A new idea from ThinkLearnDo now turns it into a handy encrypted backup system… Which also works as a small hanger where put away the keys! It is a device with interesting features, able to automate data backup: the system created by this user in fact uses a 512GB USB key connected to the Raspberry Pi, where everything is automatically stored as soon as it is connected. at the door. For the configuration of the backup system, a separate Linux server has been integrated that can make a copy of the data of the connected PCs, reporting the recently modified files to the Pi card, so as to ensure an always up-to-date backup.

The project is certainly interesting and could also be used in conjunction with one of the best backup software. Obviously everything is open source in nature, so anyone can get it and modify it to their liking by downloading it from the dedicated page. Alternatively, ThinkLearnDo also sells ready-made kits that you can order on Tindie.
