Will the RTX 4090 be 66% faster than an RTX 3090 Ti?

The alleged presentation of NVIDIA's new line up of graphics cards dedicated to the consumer / gaming market, namely the GeForce RTX 40 series, based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, is getting closer and closer.

According to the latest rumors , the card would be equipped with the AD102-300 GPU, NVIDIA's most powerful chip whose full version will only be available in the “Ti” variant. The smooth version will be equipped with 128SM, for a total of 16,384 CUDA cores, 384ROP and 96MB of L2 cache. As for memory, the product should make use of 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM with 21Gb / s bandwidth and 384-bit bus interface. The TBP is estimated to be 450W, while a 600W 16-pin power connector should allow to exceed 500W of power in versions made by third-party partners.

The well-known leaker @ kopite7kimi has recently shared on Twitter the result obtained in the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmark from an alleged GeForce RTX 4090, equal to over 19,000 points. If we compare this value with today's flagship proposals from the Californian manufacturer, we can see that the RTX 4090 is 66% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti and 82% faster than the RTX 3090.
