Genshin Impact 3.0

In recent months, the authors of the popular Genshin Impact have announced some of the upcoming projects coming soon and which will expand the ever wider Mihoyoverse. While waiting to get their hands on these new experiences, fans of the famous gatcha game are all interested in the next big game update. Version 3.0 promises great things, and among the upcoming news there are also some highly anticipated content and new elements.

To announce the news coming to Genshin Impact along with the update to the version 3.0 MiHoyo took care of it, with the Chinese team having released a new trailer called 'Sumeru Preview Teaser 01: The Fascinating Dendro Element'. We are talking about one of the most important updates for the popular gatcha game, as it will insert a whole new region into the game along with a new element.

Inside the new trailer we can get a lot of other preliminary information on the next big content update of the game. Among these, the development team also began to discuss how they came up with the idea of inserting the new elements into the experience, but not only. It is also underlined how this new portion of the game was made with important themes such as catalysis, wisdom and life in mind.

We currently know of no release date for Genshin Impact Update 3.0, but MiHoyo has already confirmed that it will be anticipated by the launch of version 2.8, which will arrive on July 13th.

Genshin Impact Sumeru Characters Tighnari, Collei, Dori Officially Confirmed For 3.0

HoYoverse revealed on July 11 that Tighnari, Collei, and Dori will be the first 3 Sumeru characters to join Genshin Impact, and will all release in Version 3.0. While these three characters (and four more) were already leaked several days ago, this is the first time we’ve got an official announcement, with artwork and lore. The announcement happened via the Drip Marketing shared by Genshin Impact socials, something all longtime players are accustomed to.

Tighnari, Voiced By Sanae Kobayashi

First, we have Tighnari, he’s one of the watchers of Avidya Forest, and a Dendro character. As usual, Drip Marketing doesn’t specify the characters’ rarity and weapons, and these will be officially announced together with the banners in around 5 weeks on the livestream. However, past leaks mentioned Tighnari is a 5-Star character.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Japanese Genshin Impact Twitter account also confirmed each of the characters’ seiyuu. Tighnari will be voiced by Sanae Kobayashi. She’s a veteran seiyuu who debuted in 1999. One of Sanae Kobayashi’s first defining role was Hikaru’s rival Akira Toya in Hikaru no Go. She voiced many other bishonen characters since then, such as Allen Walker, the protagonist of D.Gray-man. Tighnari is part of the same vibe as well, and even his haircut looks slightly similar to Akira’s. If you like how Tighnari looks, you should definitely go watch the Hikaru no Go anime if you haven’t yet.

Over her career, Sanae Kobayashi voiced many other popular characters. Including Lucy in Elfen Lied, Asuka (Alexis) in Yugioh GX, and Gemini Sunrise in Sakura Taisen. Last but not least, Sanae Kobayashi also voiced Raven in Honkai Impact.

We also have additional lore from the Genshin Impact Facebook as per tradition:

“A message for you. I brought back a specialty from the desert, two packs of honeyed dates, which helps to replenish your energy, whether in the morning or at night. Thank you for your patience in teaching and taking care of Collei. Good luck with your work and best wishes for Collei’s studies.” — An anonymously written message left inside a candy box, placed on the watcher’s table.

People who encounter misfortunes in the Avidya Forest are lucky to meet a Forest Watcher named Tighnari. But if you land yourself in trouble due to foolish antics, you might have mixed feelings meeting Tighnari.Tighnari resolves problems quickly and professionally, but at the same time, he will give the other party a stern lecture. As the saying goes, those who underestimate the rainforest will get taught a lesson by it, and those who underestimate a Forest Watcher will eventually face the teachings of the “Wilderness Survival Skills Lecture.”These are all rumors, but in reality, there is no need to be too stressed when encountering Tighnari. Anyone with a clear head will be able to comprehend his easy-to-understand explanations. As for those who are set in their ways—“What a pity, I majored in botany, and helping people grow a brain is not my area of expertise.”

Collei, Voiced By Ryoko Maekawa

Next, we have Collei, a Bow + Dendro character. Past leaks mentioned she is a 4-Star character. Collei first appeared in the Genshin Impact prequel manga, which launched before the game got announced. I highly recommend reading the manga if you haven’t yet, especially since it’s free on Genshin Impact’s official site.

Collei will be voiced by Ryoko Maekawa. She’s a pretty new seiyuu with no big roles under her name yet, she only voiced side characters so far. One of her most notable roles is Hanabi Natsubayashi, one of the first Heroines introduced in Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki (Jaku Chara Tomozaki-kun).

Here’s the new lore for Collei:

A trainee ranger active in Avidya Forest. Positive and optimistic, enthusiastic and kind.Collei is from Sumeru, but few people know about her experiences before she came to Gandharva Ville, and she herself never mentions anything about her past.Perhaps because of Collei’s pure gaze and earnest attitude, people saw her reserved demeanor as just part of her personality and did not shy away from her because of it. The children of Gandharva Ville love to watch her sew dolls, and those who find themselves lost in Avidya Forest are willing to follow her back to safety.Since her return to Sumeru, Collei has earned the trust and respect of the people with her actions. But at night, when everything is dark, she sometimes thinks about those memories that she has buried away.Even though everything is going well, she still hopes that she can work even harder and improve faster in the future. —Only in this way can she overcome her past weak self as quickly as possible.

Dori

Lastly, we have Dori, who is an Electro character from Sumeru. Past leaks mentioned she is another 4-Star character. Dori’s seiyuu was not revealed yet. Here’s her official lore from Facebook.

“No matter how rare the experimental materials are, you can buy them from Dori. I don’t know where she gets her goods from… Also, make sure you pay attention to the price when you buy from her. My heart aches every time I pay the bill.” — Tighnari

The unpredictable and elusive Dori seems to have an uncountable number of treasures. As the most “resourceful” merchant in Sumeru, she has a way to get you anything you need, be it precious gems, rare herbs, and exotic items that no one has ever heard of.Of course, this doesn’t come at a small price. Dori always has a warm smile on her face when quoting you jaw-dropping prices. Some people see her as rain after a long drought, one that brings timely relief, while others regard her as an unscrupulous merchant who takes advantage of the situation. But all this chatter doesn’t faze Dori in the slightest. The only thing that echoes in the Palace of Alcazarzaray has always been the crisp sound of Mora tinkling.

The next batch of official details on Tighnari, Collei, and Dori will be revealed via the Genshin Impact Version 3.0 livestream in several weeks. The names of the characters’ English voice actresses and actors will most notably be revealed at that moment.

Last but not least, don’t forget that for a reason which eludes me, the Drip Marketing character artwork shared by the English Genshin Impact Twitter are slightly trimmed as always. Most notably you won’t see the characters’ feet, which is a huge deal for some fans, especially considering Genshin, like many other Japanese-stylized games, plays with this in its character design. For full versions of the artwork, check out the Japanese Genshin Twitter.
