Breath of the Wild can be completed without using runes

After Nintendo's recent postponement of the sequel, a Breath of the Wild speedrunner set a new record by completing all 120 shrines without using a single Sheikah Slate rune. The feat shows tremendous knowledge of the title and, at the same time, a remarkable resourcefulness on the part of the streamer who made it.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild As reported Eurogamer, in fact, Limcube, speedrunner of Breath of the Wild, broadcast in streaming all the 28 hours of his enterprise, then condensing it into a half-hour video in which the highlights of the run are shown. Limcube used a variety of known methods and tricks to complete most of the shrines but inevitably found himself having to experiment and improvise. Some of the more difficult shrines to finish without runes required the use of a well-known trick called Shrine Coordinate Warp (SCW), which Limcube says allows you to take advantage of the cutscene where Link enters one shrine to transport himself to another. The streamer also used a combination of SCW and what is known as pause buffering, to enter a couple of shrines that otherwise would not have been accessible without the runes.| ); }
