PC inside a keyboard? Here is the new rival of Rapsberry Pi 400

Launched a couple of years ago, Raspberry Pi 400 was received quite warmly by the public, constituting a sort of "spiritual heir" of the historic home computers of the 80s (such as the Commodore 64 and Amiga), where all the components were enclosed all inside the keyboard chassis itself. In fact, Raspberry Pi 400 contains a variant of Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB of RAM and allows you to have a real portable PC: just connect the power supply, a monitor, a mouse and you're done!

Undoubtedly, this is a rather little used form factor, but, as reported by colleagues at CNX Software, a new competitor of the Raspberry Pi 400 will soon be launched. It is Orange Pi 800, whose appearance is very similar to the his "source of inspiration". From a technical point of view, however, Orange Pi 800 is based on the Rockchip RK3399 chipset, a six-core CPU consisting of two 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A72 cores and four 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores, accompanied by the Mali GPU. -T860MP4, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of eMMC memory for storage. Its dimensions are 286x122x22 mm, for a total weight of 385 grams.

Unfortunately, at the moment, release date and price remain unknown, but the device will be marketed with Chromium OS on board and Orange Pi OS, based on Arch Linux, will also be supported.
