Nintendo Labo performed well, but sales of products in this line have been far below expectations, former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime reported to CNET microphones."I thought Labo was going to be a blockbuster," Reggie confessed. "Not just among normal players: I saw enormous potential in schools, as an educational tool. Internationally it did well, but it certainly wasn't able to meet the expectations of the company."
"Allo Similarly, the virtual reality experiences offered by Labo were fun, highly engaging, and different from other VR games. I thought maybe that idea would make a difference to propel the product, but it didn't. "
"Anyway, I am confident that Nintendo will continue to experiment, after all it is part of its nature to try different technologies and understand how to make them fun," continued the former president of Nintendo of America.
"I am convinced there are clear opportunities precisely in the context of experiences between parents and children, in the possibility of developing STEM skills together (science, technology, engineering and mathematics, Ed.)."
