The new official trailer for Money Heist

On June 4th we will be able to see the first episode of Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area, the Korean version of the Spanish phenomenon series La Casa di Carta (La Casa de Papel). In view of the upcoming release Netflix has released a new official trailer that shows us the first action scenes of the series.

The new official trailer of Money Heist

In the video, South and North Korea are one step away from a historical unification, which will inevitably have the consequence of issuing a new common currency. It is therefore a wedding invitation for the band led by the new Professor.

“I was intrigued by the premise of the remake because it is not only about the conflict between thieves and the police, but it also adds new levels such as tension, mistrust and the harmony between North Korea and South Korea. It is a situation in which the thieves of North and South Korea join forces and the police of the two countries also join forces to stop them, creating a joint task force led by a South Korean negotiation specialist and a North Korean agent, all adding "a Korean lens" to the well known and widely followed original.

About Money Heist

The new adaptation, consisting of 12 episodes, will arrive on the streaming platform on June 24th. Park Hae-soo, the actor who played Cho Sang-woo in Squid Game, now the professor's right-hand man and the perpetrator of criminals, will take on the role of Berlin.

They are part of the cast also Jeon Jong-seo (Tokyo), Lee Won-jong (Moscow), Kim Ji-hun (Denver), Jang Yoon-ju (Nairobi), Lee Hyun-woo (Rio), Kim Ji-hun (Helsinki) and Lee Kyu-ho (Oslo), now members of the professor's gang. Countering them are Task Force Team members Kim Yunjin (Seon Woojin) and Kim Sung-o (Cha Moohyuk), with Park Myung-hoon (Cho Youngmin) and Lee Joobeen (Youn Misun) as hostages.

Disguised in the shadow of a mask, a group of desperate people unite under the leadership of a criminal mastermind known only as "The Professor" to land the biggest robbery that Korea I've ever seen. Trust the professor. Choose the name of your city. Put on your masks. It is time.

Money Heist: Korea drops intense first trailer ahead of spin-off launch

Money Heist: Korea is almost upon us and the Netflix spin-off drama has now dropped a very intense first trailer which promises a fascinating new story.

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, which will drop its first episodes on Netflix on June 24, will put a new spin on the original Spanish series Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel.

The new trailer, which you can watch above, features the moment that it is announced that the ongoing conflict between North and South Korea is over, and that 'the two Koreas will establish an economic union, and develop and use a common currency'.

Unfortunately, this seemingly hopeful development doesn't work out as well for ordinary people as they had hoped, as it is revealed that the union has only made the rich richer and that many regular people have been 'left with nothing'.

A discontented group get together to 'pull off the single largest money heist', and they're soon donning those red hooded outfits and masks and setting off to commit a crime that could change the world forever.

The show's official synopsis reads: 'Thieves overtake the mint of a unified Korea. With hostages trapped inside, the police must stop them – as well as the shadowy mastermind behind it all.'

Money Heist: Korea stars several well-known faces, including Squid Game's Park Hae-soo as Berlin, Parasite's Park Myung-hoon as Cho Young-min and Lost's Yunjin Kim as Seon Woo-jin.

The original Money Heist has now come to an end after five seasons, with show creator Álex Pina explaining that the show's executive producers were keen to end the series on their own terms and to not drag the story out too far.

'We've made over 2,000 minutes of fiction with two heists,' he said. 'I think we've exhausted some of the characters' emotional arcs and their arcs of transformation. We've told a lot and I think it's a good time to stop. It's a very climatic season and I think it's always better to leave sooner rather than later.'

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1 will premiere on Netflix on June 24. Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) seasons 1-5B are now available to watch worldwide on Netflix.
